Features

Unique rural community at base of D'Aguilar Range; strong growth

First known as Hamilton, Dayboro is a unique rural community located at the base of the D'Aguilar Range and about one hour north-west of the Brisbane CBD.

Despite its proximity to major urban centres, Dayboro has retained a country town feel with all the values attached: everyone knows each other, it's very safe, especially for children, and people have been known to ride their horses down main streets. Like most country towns, Dayboro is also a very social place and there are frequent activities for young people and families.

Dayboro has experienced strong growth in recent times, which has transformed it from a semi-rural community to a bustling township complete with new facilities. Such growth has meant that bargains are now getting fewer and further between.

Popular with families, there's a mixture of apartments, town houses, single-detached houses and vacant land in Dayboro in a mix of architectural styles ranging from renovated and traditional Queenslanders and colonials, to post-war housing, and chamferboard and brick-and-tile.

There is plenty of vacant land with residential blocks available in late 2007 from about $200,000. There is also park residential (1.5 acres), rural residential (five to 10 acres) and rural land (more than 10 acres) available. Prestige acreage property worth more than $1 million is also available.

Surrounded by Samsonvale, Ocean View, Lacey's Creek, Rush Creek and Mount Mee, Dayboro has a plethora of facilities in the area. There is one primary school in Dayboro; while a number of high schools are located within about 30 minutes drive away. The closest hospital is in Redcliffe (30 minutes away). There are a number of shopping centres, a TAFE and cinemas also 30 minutes away.

Dayboro has a variety of walk and bikeways as well as parks and sporting facilities including a football field, netball court and pool and showgrounds. Popular local events include Dayboro Day, Dayboro Rodeo and the Dayboro Show.

The South-East Queensland regional plan has capped further subdivisions in Dayboro and surrounding areas with current developments either started or waiting final approvals to be completed within five years.
